Bank Details (Scam call) reported by

She claimed she was calling for information on my husbands bank account and if she did not get it they will freeze his account. She did not know what bank or account nor did she have my husbands phone number whose account it was as she phoned on me on my phone number

Same thing just happened to me, the lady got flippant when I refused to give my partners details, said that they lost his FICA details and will now just close the account.

Offering free R5000 portfolio of shares (Scam call) reported by

Sales agent begins by offering you "free" R5000 in shares, but a consultant needs to come see you the next day to explain all the details. They don't charge any monthly fee either, and apparently got my number from "someone else" who I know, and has signed up with them, and is now making a lot of money on the stock market, due to their product/assistance. (wouldn't tell me who gave my details to them though)

The person says i have R5000 and they want to come and see me. (Financial services) reported by

The call starts off with a lame joke to make you laugh and then the person says I have R5000 and they want to come and see me within the next day or 2 to come and discuss how I can double the R5000. I did say I am not interested but they DO NOT take no for an answer.

Beware of scamsters (Telemarketer) reported by

BEWARE. This company (from Pretoria) may've been operating under a different name. They now call themselves "Diverse Point". Trying to sell you share-trading software, that's not worth it's money...snake oil. Old trick in the book. For starters, you get offered a R5,000 share portfolio to entice buy. (Almost like online gambling or binary options. Alarm bells should ring by now!) Promises of making good returns in shares. (In real life it's not that easy.) If this product was making money so easy, why do they need MY money?? (i.e. they could keep their trading secret to themselves). It's considered a marketing scam in my opinion.
