A lady called asking to speak to my husband and that I should give his cellphone number. When I asked why they needed the number for, she replied that they are putting together a cellphone register book which will be used during census. I indicated that they can contact me regarding when they will be doing their rounds for the census, on which she became very rude and threatening me with deportation because I am working against the goverment.

Offering R5000 worth of shares in major companies. Can`t get a straight answer from the 2 ladies or gentleman that phoned. The conversation just kept going back to the R 5000 shares they want to give and the meeting they want to set up.

The guy (gerhard) said he was from direct national and under the direction of his director and that he wanted to speak to my husband who was not available. I told him to call back in about an hour. He became belligerent and threatened to block our bank account if he didn't speak to my husband in the next 10 minutes. I told him he has a very bad attitude and I again said that my husband is not available and he said enjoy the weekend without money then I ended the call.

Had exactly the same this morning . She wanted to speak to my husbaand re his fica compliance which is not up to date (according to her). She says they are service providers for the 4 major banks, Std, Ned, Fnb and ABSA. I told he if she knew so much about my husband she should call him on his number , not mine. They called me a week ago offering R5000 shares in some company, without any information about where it will be invested or how. They called repeatedly, even after I hung up. They wanted to send someone to me to explain it and set up the shares, but refused to send it via email because the "document is 300 pages, there are too many figures and graphs so it will just confuse." They clearly think I'm an ****. I refused to give out my personal details, and instead insisted that they email me the details and do not call again. I have not received that email, so this is clearly a scam.

A woman called, knew my name and babbled on in Afrikaans without giving me a chance to say anything. Hadn't a clue what she was offering, but she tried very hard to keep my attention after I told her I was not interested. Eventually I had to do the rude thing and put the phone down.

They phoned my number twice to speak to my husband - first a lady and the next day a man called. I told them this is MY number and they insisted on speaking to my husband. I said he works away and cannot take calls and they insisted I give them his number, which I refused to do - if it was my husband's bank they would call him directly on his own cell number and now use my number...not so??? They then said they are representing all our major banks and need his FICA information. I said I have power of attorney to handle all my husband's matters and they should speak to me, which the guys was very abrupt about. If I didn't give my husband's details they will freeze his banking account in the next hour. So I asked them what bank account and which bank? The guy said all his banking accounts, I told him we did our FICA stuff at our bank 2 months ago. He then got rude and said "well you won't be able to use your husband's banking account because I am going to freeze it!" I told him he must not patronize or threaten me and told him go ahead and freeze the accounts, which annoyed him even more and I said to him that I have their details and am busy tracing them and he started getting very abrupt with me. Eventually with my nice manners I very politely told him to F-Off and he hung up. These people obviously get our details from cell phone contracts as the contract is in my husband's name, but I pay for it.
