This was the most obnoxious person on that side who does not takes no for an answer. I am in a meeting and he phoned back 10x after I explicitly told him I have no time to talk to him. This is the worst haressment over a phone ever and I am trying to find out where I can report them. They want to give me R5000 worth of shares. Rubbish!

An extremely rude Afrikaans woman called to speak to my husband (by name), I asked in connection with what, she said they were affiliated to ABSA, FNB, Standard bank and were going to hand his account over if I didn't giver her his phone no. Some story about being offline and only having my number on a hard copy. She refused to speak English and ended the call when I asked to speak to her supervisor.

An Africans speaking lady started talking to me and I told her I don't speak Africans and she just ended the call, but at the background there was a lot of noise like being in a shopping center or coffee shop, very suspicious.

I just had the same call, same experience as most of the comments on this site. The bigger problem here is the fact that people like these get our information from somewhere, not just a phone number randomly picked, they actually knew my first name and surname. They are receiving this info from companies (persons within those companies), we as consumers deal with and trust to keep our personal info private!!!!!!

Says they are from Absa looking for my husband. 1st call was some R5000 trade investment opportunity. 2nd call a supposed bussiness opportunity. 3rd and 4th, his manager wanted to speak to my husband. Last call they will block some card until they can speak to him.. very unprofessional and irritating!

They claim they got your number as a referral from a relative/friend at one of their seminars they hosted. They know your name and surname and spoke Afrikaans. It's some R5000 scam as everyone else mentioned and they want to know when they can meet you asking "Waneer kom rock ons you wereld? More oggend, middag of aand?"

They are pretty persistant. They called three times. The guy's name was Arno and he claimed to be from Online Capital.

Phoned me with the same thing as above, I agreed to meeting but when I told them I have a credit card with a limit below R10 000. they where not interested in me anymore. Looks like a scam because I can't find company website any where. So best to tell them you don't have a credit card.

Afrikaans guy, knew my name, told him I don't speak Afrikaans...I refused to talk Afrikaans as I do all business in English... He hung up on me, But i'm one of the guys who give these irritating telemarketers a hard time... Sounded like a scam, noisy background, rude... Best stay away from answering this number, or give them a hard time if you do answer :-)

Lady phoned me, asked where they can get hold of my husband. I wanted to know why, she did not want to tell me. Then I asked again, where is she phoning from. She tells me Capitol Online or something, as if I am supposed to know who they are. She is quite persistent and does not want to tell me what it is all about. She just says her boss urgently needs to get hold of my husband. Also says something about being linked to all the big banks. I then tell her that my husband passed away 3 years ago, which is the truth. And then she carries on asking me if I don't have a son with the same name. She clearly didn't believe me and still tried, double-checking with me how long ago he passed away.

Same story, insisted her boss needed to talk to my husband. Said she was linked to all the big banks. I asked which one in particular and she said ABSA. Told her we had nothing to do with ABSA but I would speak to her boss. Said I was being put through but hung up. Afkrikaans speaking female and a lot of background noise.
Thank you for these posts I will know what to do if I received another call like this.

Afrikaans woman called my husband earlier today. He told her he wasn't interested in anything she was marketing and busy at work, so she phoned him again this afternoon. When he told her that he'd told her before he wasn't interested, she copped an attitude and told him to 'kry maniere' before hanging up.

Phoned and wanted to speak to my husband, he did not want to give any info. The only thing he tells me is this is a business related call from Tactical on-line. Was very adamant and wanted to speak to him. He will call back now I know what to say to him. Thank you for all the other remarks ons this no.

Phoned now and asked for Mr.... Middle name and surname. I said its not his phone. Hiw may I help? I need to give nr urgently he is phoning from top 4 banks and big issue with his account! I said so you can speak to me we have a joint acc. NO.. His boss wont be happy!! I said Deal with me if you dont have nr. He dropped the call.
