Constant calls from this number every few hours. They hang up as soon as the call is answered. Phoned back and recording says "Stay on the line for the next available consultant" without any information about what company it is or what it is about. I did not stay on the line as I am concerned it is a pay-per-second line that will eat away all my airtime.

After doing some research, it turns out that this is one of the numbers for VVM - a debt collection agency that pretends to be a legitimate law firm. They are very well known for trying to collect debts that don't exist, have prescribed, are fully paid up or have been written off. They have tried this with me before and failed miserably because I proved that they were trying to illegally collect a debt that had been paid up for over a decade!
