Phishing call - Says she is from government (Scam call) reported by Liam Neeson
This is a phishing scam call, trying to extract additional information from you. She said she was calling from a government program to assist people in paying their bills. She wanted to know if I had any accounts. To which I answered yes. She wanted to know if I am full time employed and earn more than R3,500 a month. To which I answered maybe. She said she would ask her supervisor to explain something to me and call me back later. I asked to be called at 21H00, to which she responded they only work until 18H00. I agreed that would be a suitable time to call me. These people are probably scammers, looking to extract information from their targets. Once they realise that you earn over a certain amount - they know that you're a worthwhile target. They will likely ask where you have store accounts, and for what amounts... and what the account balances are... and what the account numbers are... and then with their friends in cahoots with them they will determine more info, and eventually build up a profile on you - and then start hacking your accounts. She ended the call by asking for my name. IF THAT'S NOT A FISHY UNSOLICITED CALL then I don't know what is. STAY SAFE!
