These crooks call to collect personal details amd verify them ( or alternatively to verify details they already have obtained fraudulently- usually from bank employees?). They are the ones who load the R99 fraudualent debits. Dont answer their calls. And defnitely dont confirm any personal details if you do answer. It has now become so bad, I dont even answer the phone for any numbers starting with 031 or 087, and lately now it seems 021 numbers as well.

They called me asking me if I was willing to do a survey on the major banks in SA. I asked who they were working for and how they got my number. Woman tells me its on a consumer's list that we all get placed on for using banking services in S.A. Doesn't mention who she works for. I asked her what gives them the right to use my personal number regardless of whether it is on a list of consumers. She tries to reassure me that its standard practice for surveyors to use this information - which is totally untrue. Then they ask me if I am willing to refer a friend... for a survey... something smells very fishy here. She starts asking me friend's personal information and warning bells sound. Suddenly she experiences technical difficulties when she hears I'm self-employed and says she'll call back later. I put this number straight onto my reject list. Do not answer calls from this number, they are a scam in every sense of the word. Trying to fish for personal information they can later use to defraud you. This is NOT a survey, don't be fooled. No major statistics company will call you on a cell phone number to do a survey. From other reports on this site it is also clear that they do no just claim to be surveyors but also to sell insurance, find out about your experience with a specific bank pretending to be a consultant from that bank, pretending to be HR supervisors from your OWN company, and the list goes on. Plainly they are scammers.

Identify themselves as Surveying the Service Industry in SA. Take lots f person information that could be used for customer verification. I'm not sure if this is a trustworthy number. Information given can be used for identify fraud. Not sure if I trust this number.
