SMS received and then a call from Nudebt, claiming that my Telkom account was handed over to them! All accounts I have and had at Telkom are up to date! When I asked for more information regarding which account is supposed to be outstanding, woman said due to POPIA act she needs my ID number or date of birth to provide any information to me! I did NOT give her the information! One scam after another - very frustrating!

They claim they are debt collectors for fictitious debt, but then try fish for information. DONT GIVE THEM ANY BANKING OR PERSONAL INFORMATION. They seem to have access to basic information. Very convincing. Read the other comments and you will notice a pattern. Said I had a MTN account which I do not. They had my home and cell number! e

I am an attorney in Cape Town. Some man, whose name I did not get, said he was calling me (he had my full name) from "New Debt" about an outstanding telecommunications account. I asked which company claimed that I owed money and he replied that before he told me, I would need to confirm my identity number so they were sure they were speaking to the right person. I told him I would speak to him when he identified his client. He rang off.

Witless debt collecting through NuDebt of Incompetent Telkom accounts department. Even after proof of service cancellation fee has been provided. Telkom is unable to reconcile their own repeated account mistakes and subsequent incorrect "handover". NuDebt is as incompetent and witless in reconciliation of proof. Never-mind the fact of additional proof that was provided that Telkom owes us a huge refund. DON'T ANSWER THIS NUMBER. It is a waste of time. Get your legal counsel to sort this out.
