Oh my word!!! Exactly the same, but it was a woman who called me about taking off red flags. I was stupid enough to let her, the next thing I know - I have new ACTIVE accounts on my name, amounting to half a million. I have no idea when and how I made such expensive debts when according to SARS I'm in the (low income) bracket.

I told the caller that if he wants to sell me anything, I am unemployed, he stated that I am lying about my employment status and that I am transacting on my account...upon which I asked him, with the POPI act, where does he get my information from, he was quite **** and I put the phone down. I am sure that my Bankers are selling my information on to telemarketers...
