Woman shouts down the phone in an alien language over a noisy background. When you tell her you can't understand what she's saying she then responds with some words in English like "financial services provider" and "national credit regulator". She's shouting at speed, obviously in a hurry as her spaceship is departing so when you can't understand but you know it's nothing you've asked for, you cut the call and block the number. Let ET try phoning home.

I answered the call, there was a delay, almost what you get with most call centers. I asked may I help you? The caller repeated what I said "May I help you" then spoke in another language and put the call down in my ear.

Telkom Mobile checking up on contract (first 60 seconds was silence and then finally the operator started speaking). This is the second call from them. They are trying to up-sell a new phone package. The last one they sold me was a useless HiSense phone. Now they only have Samsung and Huawei (no SONY). Until I can understand what is happening in the Huawei eco-system, I can't realistically buy a Huawei phone. I like the brand, and think they're great technology and value for money... but the whole "No Google Play Store", and question of what "Petal Search" is, what OS their mobile phones run (EMUI or Harmony?), are all the apps I use/require available on their phones? Are apps found using Petal Search safe? What guarantee is there that there is no embedded malware in these independent app clones? I can't yet switch to a Huawei phone.

He requested to speak to the Director. Knew him by name. Rude when I asked what it was in connection with. Said it was a private business call. I refused to put him through. He hung up. Clearly selling something or is a scam call. Sounded foreign, although the call shows Cape Town

I get this a lot. I was called by 0210032971 - it rang briefly then hung up. Then immediately after I got a call from 0100550396. I answered and they hung up without a word said. NOTE - this happens a lot. If you get calls from 021-0xxx / 031-0xxx / 012-0xxx / 031-9xxx it's guaranteed to be a call centre of some sort.

I have blocked the number as I do not want them to call me. They must have their system on autodial as I get up to 4 missed call alerts from this number per day. Tried phoning them to get my number totally removed from the system - started caller number 4 in line - 1 min waiting time - after 5 min jumped to 2 min waiting time and after that kept on jumping up every minute by a minute. Could not get through. PLEASE TAKE ME OFF FROM YOUR LIST AND DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CALL ME AT ALL
