The irony is that the very call which is implemented to try and cut down on fraud is so suspicious in itself. The first request on answering the phone, is that one should give your id number. We all know that that is a no-no when circumstances are doubtful. I did not entertain the call beyond that point so my only comment is that this method does not encourage prudence in divulging information on the telephone which is exactly the type of behavior that leads to possible criminal opportunities in which the end user is the only victim.

Called to notify a fraudulent transaction on my credit card (Robocall) reported by Debi
I made a Mr Delivery order, I authed the transaction through the ABSA app. Shortly afterwards received this robocall. No idea if it is legit. It asked me to confirm my ID number. I did not and ended the call. I've been a victim of identity theft, no way am I giving info to a robot. ABSA you need to find another way to notify customers of fraudulent transactions.

Recorded call at midnight citing suspicious activity on my card and asking for my ID number. Suspicious. I now sit on hold forever on actual fraud line to ABSA (Having called them back) vowing to cancel my credit card with Woolworths tomorrow!
