Hi I'm calling from blah blah Insurance company, and I would like to do a quote for you. THIS IS SO LIKELY TO BE A SCAM CALL, harvesting your personal data - in order to build up a profile of you. When I told the caller I couldn't hear what company they said they were calling from they hung up. But I anticipate they'll be asking you details about the kind of house you live in, what your income is, how many vehicles you have, and if you're still paying for them, and if you have money outstanding on your bond, and what your First name is and what your surname is, and what area you live, and what bank you bank with (maybe they ask you details about your current insurance) and what your phone number is, and what your email address is... and then well - before you know it - they have some pretty good info on you... fueling the profile they're building on you... getting ready to scam you with a fake bond email, or fake SARS letter... or... or... DON'T DO IT. DO NOT GIVE OUT PERSONAL INFORMATION TO STRANGERS WHO GIVE YOU UNSOLICITED PHONE CALLS.
